Silence: A State of Qualia...

Maha Shivratri is a day I always look upon because that is the highest number of hours I spend in a temple in silence. With the prayers, I thank Lord for all the strength, resilience, mindset I get to face life, say sorry for wherever went wrong and seek wellbeing for the people I truly love and care. I believe engaging in silent contemplation at the temple during these hours can be a profound and peaceful way to connect with the spiritual self. While in silence, I speak the most, I pour my heart out and go through an extreme emotional awareness. I feel silence while embracing spirituality is a way of introspecting that can direct you to the better understanding of self and connectedness beyond the physical realm.

Silence acts as a powerful focus. From a psychological perspective, absorption in silence often involves mindfulness and rumination. It can help calm the mind, reduce stress, and enhance overall mental well-being. Silence involves creating a quiet environment to minimize the external noise. This can enhance concentration, reduce distractions, decrease the quest for inner peace and promote a sense of serenity. Concentration on silence is frequently linked to contemplative practices. Several traditions put emphasis on silence to connect with a deeper sense of self, engrossed introspection, and nurturing a connection with the spiritual domain. It is seen as a way to transcend the noise of everyday life and adapt to a higher consciousness. Silence has its impact on social relations too. Giving others a space to express without interruption through active listening can facilitate deeper communication and understanding. Additionally, shared moments of comfortable silence can strengthen social bonds, allowing connections to develop beyond words.

Concentrating on silence can be an effective stress management strategy. Engaging in activities like deep breathing or meditation in quiet environment helps regulate stress hormones, promote relaxation and a sense of calm. It allows for a mental reset and can contribute to overall stress reduction. Silence in the context of love can be deep. Sometimes, words are not necessary to express deep emotions. Shared moments of quiet understanding and companionship can strengthen the bonds of love. It is about being present with someone and connecting on a level that can surpass verbal communication.

The silence that follows betrayal can be heavy with unspoken emotions. It often represents a rupture in trust and communication. Healing may involve addressing the stillness, through either open dialogue or a mutual understanding, and to navigate the intricacies of the aftermath. Trust is often felt more than spoken. The silence in a trusting relationship signifies a sense of security and confidence. It is the unspoken assurance that allows individuals to be vulnerable, knowing their feelings and actions are understood and valued. The silence after a failure can be a time of reflection and self-discovery. It is an opportunity to learn, recalibrate, and plan a way forward. Embracing this silence can be a powerful step toward personal growth and resilience. The silence surrounding death is a poignant aspect of the grieving process. It reflects the absence and the difficulty in expressing the depth of emotions.

Sometimes, the most meaningful acknowledgment of success is found in the quiet satisfaction within oneself. The silence following success can be a moment of reflection, gratitude, and the recognition of personal achievements. The silence of reflection and appreciation can be a powerful way to acknowledge the positive aspects of life, fostering a deep sense of contentment and connection. Silence, when used intentionally, can be a powerful form of communication. It allows for reflecting, active attending, and creating a space for deeper understanding in both personal and professional interactions. Silence can sometimes be a result of not knowing, but breaking that silence with curiosity and a willingness to learn can be a powerful antidote to ignorance and inexperience.

  8. Very well written. Silence speaks louder than the voice sometimes. Somehow I also feel that to awaken our inner self, silence is needed at a place which is not crowdy.

Clapping: A distinctive advantage for the third gender

O ne evening while returning back from office, I took an auto-rickshaw. Leaning back in the seat, I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling the cool breeze and sway of the vehicle navigating through the busy streets. As it halted at a traffic, I opened my eyes and looked out at the passing scenery and sounds of the bustling city. Suddenly I noticed few third genders standing on the traffic waiting for the signal to cross the road.  Typically, as I pass by any third gender I think about their living, employability and acceptance into the main stream livelihood. I admire by how brave they were to be themselves in a world that often fails to understand or accept them. I felt a surge of admiration for their courage and resilience, and a commitment to stand up for equality and acceptance for all members of the community. As they made their way across the street, I silently cheered them on, grateful for their presence and the reminder to always be a friend in the need for inclusivity and ...

InSpiration: Spark that Ignites Life

I went to meet a couple of my friends last weekend. One of the beautiful aspects of reuniting with friends is reassurance. It comes with knowing that you have a support system that extends beyond time and distance. As we were engrossed in sharing inside jokes to milestone celebrations, one of our friends suddenly asked, Hey!! this was the first time we had seen you writing, except for a few thoughts at times... What is this new advancement? Where did you get this idea and inspiration from?? Hmm... the question was already answered. inSpiration!!                A few days ago one of my teachers had read a blog I had written on marriage years back. And her words of encouragement ignited the spirit to write more. And to be true I have people around me who inSpire me every day. And that's how I started writing. Inspiration can ignite our passions, fuel our creativity, and drive us to new innovations. Whether it comes from a captivating sto...
